Marisalee Palermo was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in 1964. She graduated in Foreign Languages and Literature at La Sapienza University of Rome. She began her career at the United Nations at the age of twenty-one. After thirty-four years of service, she decided to dedicate herself completely to volunteer work, with particular attention to the homeless, with the desire to help the world no longer from behind a desk but on the front line.
