
Kirsten Bronsveld-Rustenburg (1977), born in the Netherlands, lives in Sweden with her husband Arjan and their three children. Kirsten studied English at a Teacher Training College. She enjoyed working with children with special needs and completed the Special Education postgraduate. In Sweden, Kirsten worked as a coordinator of special educational needs. In 2012, Kirsten was diagnosed with TEN (Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis), an extremely life-threatening condition caused by an allergic reaction to a drug. The book tells of the ten traumatic years between contracting the illness and being able to write about how she dealt with all the trauma.
