Jean Haycock was born in a small mining town in Yorkshire, the only child of her Yorkshire mother and Australian father.
As Jean's school years were during the war, education was limited. Leaving age was then fourteen years and upon leaving she worked in fashion.
Jean left Yorkshire aged eighteen with her parents to live in the Midlands where she spent all her working life. She had a short marriage and no children.
Jean started a business aged forty-six, after two bereavements, and retired at the age of sixty-three, moving to Bournemouth.
At last, Jean could find the time to write. Although she has no family in the world, she is completely happy living alone except for her little dog, Bertie. She is blessed.
