Engaged full-time for over five decades as Writer/Editor of professional magazines, books and literature in the domains of science & technology, management, and global trade, Jagannath Sharma made it his pastime then to write stories for children's magazines, story books, and plays for toddlers and teenagers. Now relaxing and enjoying the sense of wonder, thrill, laughter, joy and fun in writing for children, he believes it is essentially the child in the writer who weaves all kinds and shapes of people, places, and things in all sorts of goings-on - weird, terrifying, funny - mysterious, magical and fantastic - which delights the little ones. Besides this book Appu and the Big Fat Raindrop, the author's works include three others: Guddu in Chocolate-Cake Land, The Compulsive Storyteller, and Dung Dung and the Man-Eater of Muni Pujari.
