Herbert Girardet
Herbert has been working as a cultural ecologist since 1970s, earning a UN Global 500 award for outstanding environmental achievements for his many books and documentaries, and his campaigning work. Before that time, in the mid- to late 1960s, he worked as a community activist in run-down Notting Hill, earning a living also as a market trader in Portobello Road. The current text, describing a unique period in London’s turbulent history, weaves together fact and fiction in a compelling narrative based on grassroots experiences.
