Fíona Donaghey was born in Ireland, and at sixteen, she went to ballet school in England for a period of time. As an adult, she went back to Ireland and worked in a children's home and a nursing home. Then as a mature student, she studied English and creative writing at the University of East Anglia, then fell in love with poetry, and now she lives to write.
