Ellen van Herk (1967) was born and raised in the Netherlands. Besides her husband, her two greatest passions are writing and Portugal. Since 2014, she and her husband have owned a holiday home in Portugal, and in 2017 her debut novel, set in that beautiful country, was published in Dutch. She enjoys writing about real people, with her stories set against the captivating backdrop of Portugal. Through her novels, she takes readers on memorable journeys across the country, introducing them to its rich culture, fascinating history, and warm-hearted people while weaving these elements into compelling stories.
