Born in Muswell Hill, north London, David spent his early years in Finsbury Park with his mother, father and two brothers. When David was ten, they moved to Crouch End until he married and moved to Wood Green, eventually buying a home in Edmonton, where his two daughters were born. He then moved to Harrow Weald where his son was born, and later, after his first divorce, he ended up moving to Hemel Hempstead, where he remains to this day. Marrying again and twenty-two years later divorcing again. David still resides in the same house, alone with a small dog called Twiggy. He retired from Gist/ BOC in 2013 to play more golf and now lawn bowls. He had some serious health problems in 2017, resulting in the removal of his lower bowel. Fit and well now, he spends his time reading, writing (his second novel over half way through) and playing bowls.
