A.J. Lloyd

A.J. is known for her love of words and music. During her children's later school years, she taught writing courses at college/university level and was often published in local newspapers and literary magazines. Her personal writing slowed until retirement when she found time to continue her daily writing habit. Included during those years she directed church choirs for both adults and youth, directed several four-county, benefit musical productions before writing a requested Sesquicentennial Celebration one act play and musical program for her county. Now free from the many schedules, she writes for herself and to preserve a family history for her grandchildren and beyond. She holds undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Sociology, and a Masters in Counselling. People ask how she landed teaching jobs outside her majors. "Simple," she tells them. "I wrote and they needed writing teachers."
Ms. Lloyd's love of travel began in childhood when the family ventured out on camping trips before there were many designated campgrounds. She continues to travel across the nation and the world trying to see ‘everything!' "We are surrounded by beauty if only we would look," she writes. Before her husband's death, they traveled in search of their roots from Ireland to New York City, from Europe to Missouri. A.J. now resides in Fredericksburg, VA, many miles from four of her five children and her grandchildren. In her spare time, she continues to do volunteer work, direct choral groups, write books, poetry and skits and is learning to play the Celtic harp, as she says, "quite a challenge!"

About Book

After being required to leave a big city home for a promotion in rural Virginia, the widow, Lizbeth, and her daughter, Dendy, seek a quiet life with church and making new friends. Due to Dendy's boredom they turn to an old Ouija board and encounter exciting, yet disturbing, messages. Lizbeth's attraction to a married man, teen turbulence and cryptic happenings add to the mystery of what lies ahead. Will Lizbeth ever remarry? Why the attraction to this man? Is there anything to Ouija's revelations? What secrets are revealed?

"Two On A Sled, A.J. Lloyd's novel, can best be described as a modern day gothic romance with interesting, believable characters who make the unique tale come to life against a background of rural idiosyncrasies and occult drama. This book sparkles."
Ardyce Kinsley, author of The Fitzhugh Lee Sampler and
