Love is a complex feeling, which can be witnessed by everyone but equally can be taken away. Focusing on three different times in their life, the highs and lows of love are discovered in a range of poems written by Ioana.
Ranging from the childhood expectations of love, the memories of past lovers and poems of lessons of love towards the narrator's younger self, the nature of love is examined truthfully and passionately.
I no longer wish to mourn over a love that was never there
asking, begging, for someone who does not care
the freckles between your eyes, the scar on your right knee
a prisoner under your spell I no longer wish to be
your love, I want it
you were nothing but a bad liar
to be loved by me, that is my biggest desire.

Ioana Onofrei is a writer and poet born in Mangalia, Romania. Coming to the UK at the young age of eleven it was challenging for various reasons, hence why she chose to lose herself in poetry books and romance novels. Using personal experiences, listening to piano keys while sipping some hot coffee represents the things that inspire her the most.
Be it Oscar Wilde, Christina Rosetti or Emily Dickinson, the romantic period was fascinating to her, with writing and publishing her own poetry book and making people get lost in her writing becoming one of her biggest dreams.
