The scene is set in Andalucia, Spain, and in particular the resorts of Torremolinos and Marbella. The dangerous world of drug dealing reveals itself with an innocent chance meeting with a lone holiday maker returning to the rented accommodation and the previous incumbents.

Charley McCarthy, a solicitor, stumbles across a group dealing in drugs. This leads to a fast-moving tale of involvement in both Spain and Ireland, with an old friend of McCarthy's, ex-policeman, Baxter. As the plot unfolds, other acquaintances are involved from both countries climaxing in collaboration of two police forces and some very clever detective work.

A well-designed storyline, which depicts the brutal outcome of betrayals and cross dealings that so often become front-page news, leaving us breathless with the outcome from old grudges and long memories.
