    A. C. Baruah was born and brought up in Tinsukia, a town in Upper Assam, India. He is basically an engineer. He served as an executive in a public sector undertaking, from where he took voluntary retirement and started independent professional jobs in his hometown. The Making of a Guru is his first attempt as an author, which took shape during the month-long lockdown in March-April 2020.
