John Peacock

I was brought up in Darlington with my younger brother. My father was a coppersmith at the British Railways workshop. My mother's family owned property in the town. I graduated from Durham University with an honours degree in History. After acquiring a teachers' certificate, I had two posts before settling in Edinburgh as a primary school teacher. I began writing my first book, The Story of Edinburgh, in response to a demand for teaching resources for the local studies. It was published in the summer of 2017. I am now retired and enjoy walking, drawing and writing. I am curently writing a crime novel with a difference as well as finishing the remaining books of the War of the Uthendal.

About Book

"It is in Manaur that many worlds meet," he had said. "The Lords of the Marrah are dedicated to keeping at bay the powers locked beyond the valley."
Once a haunted backwater, Manaur was now one of the most prosperous lands in the Seven Kingdoms. But these are troubled times and the city finds itself constantly under threat.
Who is the mysterious stranger who finds himself in Manaur and uses his strange powers to save and to kill? Can Sober Ollic, the Marrah of Manaur, actually be trusted? And the quiet, innocent Lamp Lighter, Quin Hemp, is not at all what he seems.
When the Borgtak are defeated there is the new threat of the dreaded Stopplars and the terrifying rumour of them seeking to bring a demon from the Fiery Cauldron into the lands. Then, the Lady Annina is kidnapped. Can the Knights of Manaur save her and the Seven Kingdoms?
A truly epic fantasy with mystery and intrigue that will leave you breathless.
