Who was Caroline, the Caroline who first thought up the idea for Smudge and Friends? Is she the clinical Caroline Groves NNEB adv. DHP MAPHP the children's behaviour specialist? Or just our Lini, the fun life loving woman whom at the age of nineteen was diagnosed with Astroblastoma, and a life expectancy of six months? Well I suppose both played their part, but as her partner Alan Pearce says, "Hard to see the former when you knew and loved the latter."
Caroline was born in Shotgate; a village linked with Wickford, Essex on 12th March 1975. She always wanted not only to have children herself, but to dedicate her future to all children's health and well-being. She trained and qualified as a children's hypnotherapist and psychotherapist, indeed training under the well-known Professor Terence Watts. She successfully and very bravely ran her own hypnotherapy and psychotherapy clinics for many years. Though she worked in her clinics in London and locally, it became a long and painful struggle. As the darkness of her debilitating illness began to cloud over her last few years of life. It was from this race with time, she thought of Smudge and Friends.
