Gideon Samid

Growing up in young ‘build and defend' Israel, Gideon (Gid'don) Samid kept his literary pen in the drawer, focusing instead on security, technology, engineering - planning to become a writer when he is too old to do the things writers write about. Technology took him around the world, to coal mines, to NASA, to Exxon, to the Pentagon. Most recently Gideon designed a global digital currency, BitMint, and quantum-randomized cryptographic tools, BitFlip. Reveling with innovation (over forty patent applications filed), Gid'don, doggedly, developed his carefully-honed conviction: while we are all so impressed with what we know, intellectual inertia keeps humans in a state of unbound ignorance, subject to irrational insistence on a comforting explanation to reality. We ought to respect our deep-seated spiritual yearning for which sexual intimacy is life's highway. This conviction could not be captured by a mathematical formula, and so that forgotten literary pen was pulled out from the drawer to write Gideon's first novel. He used his own life story as a crutch, but weaved a free-flowing fictional tale of a lifelong struggle for meaning and consequence, using one's sexual experience as a torch to light the darkness ahead.

About Book

Heidi was German, Fania was Dutch, Vonna was Indian. These three and a bunch more marked distinct sexual milestones in the life of an otherwise unremarkable Israeli engineer living in the United States. Until his wife had enough. Sam's introduction to sex was early, abusive and ugly, yet sexuality turned to be his outcry of despair, his search for answers, his hunt for meaning and consequence. It was his way to come to terms with the horror stories of Holocaust survivors he grew up on; it was his means to negotiate the piercing fear of a young soldier in war. Every encounter brought new hope, and ended up with pain and disarray. Sam considered his pursuit of high minded philosophical questions as his mark of nobility, his claim for an edge. He considered sexual excitement as the launching pad for his space rocket, his journey to the unbound. He regarded lovers' mutual intimate attraction as the compass for the journey of life. Alas, the lengthy court battle hammered him, his family blew apart, and Sam retreated into uneventful life, where by an off chance he encountered Nirva -- an Iranian woman, a victim of sexual violence herself. The old search has come to an equitable satisfaction. With Nirva Sam achieved a sustained sexual and spiritual journey that unleashed buckets of creativity and a rewarding quest for the veiled beyond.
