Timothy Raphael Phillips was born in Leeds but spent very little time there before he was nine years old. Having come from an artistic family, he felt almost obliged to find a talent-firstly art, then music, playing drums, and writing songs with band members. Maybe this is what started his journey into poetry. In the mid-90s, after his first marriage failed, he became inspired to release his thoughts and worries through poetry. Since retiring and having a second divorce, his writing flourished, no doubt as a result of having more thinking time. Life on his boat, ‘Sophie' has certainly helped in his productivity.
