Nelly Mhangami is an Essex based, Zimbabwean born British author and a single mum of four. She was inspired to write children’s books initially in an effort to make ends meet. Whilst on a long maternity leave, finances became very tight and Nelly found herself having to find creative ways of providing for her children. She designed apps and websites, managed social media for local businesses. It was during these hard times that Nelly discovered she had creative juices and a talent for writing children’s books and cartoon scripts. Nelly has self-published one book and has four unpublished manuscripts.
Nelly’s second inspiration was her son Kuku who loved being read to at a very young age. As he grew up, Kuku did not like eating healthy or a variety of foods, resulting in Nelly deciding to write a fun filled, fairy filled book that would inspire children all over the world to fall in love with healthy food, learn about different countries and cultures in a fairy filled way.
When she is not designing dolls, writing children’s books and cartoon scripts, Nelly trains Project Managers and Business Analysts in addition to working full time as a Technical Project Manager.
