Bombed out in Austria during WWII, the abandoned child is sent off to Australia. Never adopted but brought up in wealth the boy tries to find out what life is about. Sent to a top school he excels at sports then recruited to the Australian Military College, Duntroon. Finding no joy in the art of killing he leaves to start medicine at Adelaide University to then work in the worst mental hospital in Australia. All the time he is still lost and finds solace in the perfection of a Christian role model. Following those principles there is nothing he can't do but still, the same questions remain. He asks his personal God to reveal all the answers of the universe. His God argues it would be too much to bear. The boy argues until his God gives in, but warns him not to come back later saying I did not warn you!

Peter Nelson

Having been separated from family following WWII in Austria, shipped to
Australia but never adopted, Peter Nelson's quest was to find a place in the
world and a spot within. With no other guide beyond faith in some form of
God, once suitably qualified and equipped, his journey led across the globe
working for governments and all major donors, discovering both the good
and the bad in humans, the quest always searching for some meaning and
one's part therein.
