Claire Fretwell

Claire Fretwell, dubbed "Allergy Wonder Woman" - Glasgow Evening Times (1992) - has finally begun to do what she always wanted to do with her life and write more!!!
Her second, pioneering, allergy cookbook Cracking Craves, 2015 aimed at youngsters, teens and grown-up children contains eleven cautionary tales about donkeys and parallels to how they can become sensitive to substances, become stressed and jeopardise their health.

"Writing about donkeys has been a blast! Simply, the BEST experience of my life."
The Donks are opinionated and hilarious.
I hope you  ENJOY them as much as I have enjoyed writing them. I have attempted to write in a dynamic manner, making the Donks modern, relevant and FUN. Let me know your favourite story and why?
I hope you laugh and laugh!!!

About Book

The donks want a hobby, to stimulate them, pass the time and make them MORE interesting, so they settle on tie dyeing. Scarves, rugs etc will be created.

Herbie, whose best friends are the pigs, doesn't care as long as he doesn't have to have a tattoo! Molly, Donald and Fancy Nancy are intrigued; but, where will they get the material? What will Allergy Specialist, Claire, say when she sees ‘the state' of her sheets?

The donks' idea of a pop-up shop seems a good one, what with all the local animals needing clothes and blankets. They even make a tiny profit!

Other adventures follow as the author's opinionated animals talk over taking a hot air balloon ride, visiting a spa, the benefits of herbalism and exercise and lots of visits to Lancashire for Eccles cakes in this hilarious donks dialogue.
