Felicity Davies

Felicity lives in Wirral with her husband. She teaches archaeology and history part-time and also plays Mother Rowan the wise woman at times. She is proud to be described as ‘bohemian'.

She hopes that this book will go some way towards raising the profile of those who have survived forced adoption and bring them closer to an apology.

To all those women out there who have suffered the agony of giving a child away, you're not alone.

Some people may be surprised by the attitudes of those administering the system. How could such antique judgemental values still exist in our society? They did. The story is also of the massive shift in perception that has happened over the last 50 years. So as well as the story of my experiences in the system, this book may serve as a social history of the treatment of 'unmarried mothers'.
