Katie Phoenix

Katie Phoenix hails from the proud rugby town of St. Helens and spent her working life in and around the North West of the country as a nurse, district nursing sister, health visitor and senior nursing manager.

It is from these privileged experiences of working with individuals and families across the social spectrum in all aspects of family life that are the source of her inspiration to write.

Pheonix now lives close to the sea on Anglesey with her wonderfully supportive husband.
She has many varied interests but it is her beloved family that are, and always shall be, the focus of her life.

About Book

"We all have stories, stories that are often complex with many ups and downs, twists and turns and 'if onlys'."

In Cast a Long Shadow, Jinty Preston shows us through her formative years, and into adulthood. Phoenix demonstrates the severe impact which the death in childhood, of Jinty's twin brother, Max, had on Jinty and her family. A flawed family, beset with secrets and lies, and the sacrifices which one sometimes has to make within the structure of the family.
