Nick Owen

I worked for the best part of twenty-five years in the Government. I led a boring, mundane London commuter life. I rebelled against authority and resigned. I had always loved to read and to write from an early age. My dream was to become a writer. My dream came true. My dream was realised, yes at a price, but the marvellous thing was that I found myself through all of this. And through all this I found my true vocation. I write simply with great great passion and love for humanity.

About Book

It was difficult to remain positive and strong. I had left the security of my domestic life and the love of my family home. I sat quietly in the boat with men, women and children like me, refugees, all of us huddled together. We were, all of us, desperate, desperate for help.

Escaping from Syria and leaving behind his wife and precious daughters, Aram begins a perilous journey to seek safety. Surviving the dangers of the sea, he finds himself in what he later finds out is Italy. He then begins another quest to reach Paris where he can seek asylum and which he believes will bring him and his family security and a new life.
But how can he possibly get there with no money, no identification documents and only the clothes he stands up in?
This is a story of desperation and courage, of kindness and hope, which will restore your faith in humanity.
