When Lucy witnesses the covert handover of a mysterious gem in the middle of the night, through the window of her Chelsea flat, she has no idea that it will catapult her into a whole new life. Upon investigating the shadowy couple, she is reunited with her long-lost parents and a whole new family she never knew she had. Her father immediately involves her in his organization and an ingenious plan to use stolen diamonds to free the slaves who mined them. Alongside the men who adore her, and the women who love her, Lucy negotiates her way past false lovers, technological temptations and unexpected assassins to protect the people she loves. But is she protecting the right people? And how can she be sure who is on her side? The only way to find out is to follow the infernal relay getaway to its end.
