This collection of poetry conveys the vibrant thoughts and memories of an artist lost in beauty; the beauty of the meadows, the water, little shops, curious animals, and the people who pass along the way. From sweet bakery shop romances, to legends of swashbuckling pirates, this collection bursts with fantasy and adventure that throws you from the comfort of an ordinary street, to the dangerous escapades of gun-slinging ants. In this familiar yet surprising world, the domestic meets the surreal as each poem takes you on a trip through nature, history, tragedy, and unbridled joy, twisting in the most unexpected of directions to showcase every corner of this brilliant world. The artist recreates, with the great care of a painter, the things he has seen in the hope of capturing it forever, and thereby "sharing his heart with the future".

Christopher Powell

Christopher Powell was born in 1982 and works in the primary education sector in Sandwell in the West Midlands. On reading, A Child's Garden of Verse by Robert Louis Stevenson, he became hooked on the power of poems and went on to add Lewis Carroll, Roald Dahl and A.A. Milne to his list of literary inspirations. He is thankful for books and for language, and the wonderful power they possess. He counts a happy childhood as one of his greatest gifts and hopes just a small fragment of his work might inspire others like he himself has so often been inspired.
