Joan Hollingworth

Born in Yorkshire, I lived with my parents and brother until we relocated to Poole in Dorset in 1962. After leaving home at the age of eighteen, I lived in numerous locations throughout England and Wales and holidayed abroad frequently.

Education-wise, I studied at Plymouth and York universities and my working career has always been in communications. Over the past twenty years I have owned and run a small letting and property management business near Exeter.

Relaxation-wise, I love reading, gardening and dancing and whilst living in Devon was a founding member of a Morris dancing team.

About Book

Joan Hollingworth has settled in a small, quiet village in the Breton countryside. Small and quiet the village may be, but Joan finds herself busier than the reader might expect. Work on converting her new property into a comfortable dwelling takes a good deal of her time and attention, as does running her small residential letting and property management agency. But life is also social: Joan's friends, French and English, regularly enjoy her generous hospitality. Readers of A Slice of Life will find that it offers just that: a perceptively-observed narrative of a single year in the life of a capable and practically-minded expatriate.
