During his childhood, Marcus decided to love the way of words as an escapism from the harsh reality surrounding him. Encouraged by his grandma to read from encyclopedia and dictionaries, he began to express himself through poetry at the young age of twelve. Finding himself homeless and depressed during his teens, Marcus lost his love for a time.
Fortunately, years later, as he tackled his depression, his love was reignited, and he has spent the years thereafter putting his experiences and emotions into his words and he is now ready to share them with the world.

Throughout the harsh environments of his childhood, Marcus decided to love the way of words. He loved the way he could express himself by using the intellectual vocabulary his grandma gifted him by having him read from encyclopedias and dictionaries. Marcus's poetry started at the very young age of twelve when retreating to a peaceful park up the road from where he lived made life much more bearable. Going some time without writing in his teens, due to being homeless, left the door open for depression. It wasn't until a trek across the country in his late twenties to cure that depression, that the love he had for poetry was reborn. Now thirty-four and well into his own, Marcus has generated a much better sense of putting his emotion and feelings into his craft. Poetry has been a huge lift of the spirit for Marcus and he vows to forever write until the sun sets.
