It is about fifteen months after the conflict with the Brakendeth. Cheryl's baby, Terry, who is only six months old but preternaturally advanced, lets The President of Planet Earth know that another conflict will soon engage them: a war with The Northemy.
No one on Earth has heard of this mysterious race but baby Terry informs them that The Northemy are not dissimilar to the Brakendeth in that they also need Chemlife which can only be produced by processing human bodies. Furthermore, their attitude to humanity is the same - nothing more than cattle to use for what they need.
Once again the intrepid team prepares for a war against an unknown, powerful and incalculable foe.
