Klaus Voormann recently hit the book news, you may know him as the creator of the famous Beatles album cover 'Revolver'?
Well, Genesis Publications will release the "Grammy Anniversary Edition" of Voormann's 2016 book, Revolver 50 very soon! How exciting!

This got us thinking about some other rock photography books that have grabbed out attention over the years. So in celebration of Voormann’s new release, here’s a few of our favourites:

Mick Rock: Psychedelic Renegades

Psychedelic Renegades: Photos of Syd Barrett by Mick Rock is our personal favourite. But Mick Rock is the god of rock photographers. Shooting some of the earliest and most outrageous pictures of stars such as Freddie Mercury, David Bowie, Lou Reed and of course, Syd Barrett at the peak of his insanity. Every book of his is top notch.

Hedi Slimane: Rock Diary

Famous for shooting bands such as The Libertines, Franz Ferdinand and Courtney Love. Slimane – who usually shot fashion, decided to delve into rock and he went with the dirty side. Shooting in mainly black and white and zooming in on the beautiful imperfections of fame. His work is a stunning insight into the real world of rock. It’s called Sex, Drugs and Rock and Roll for a reason.

All Access: The Rock 'n' Roll Photography of Ken Regan

Well known for working with stars such as The Rolling Stones and Bob Dylan, Regan has taken the photos that we know so well. He’s famous for his candid shots and really capturing the personality of the rock stars behind their made up masks.

So, they are our favouites, what are yours?
