2023 is upon us, and millions of people find the start of a new year to be the start of becoming greater versions of themselves.
With that in mind, greatness doesn't come straight away, and there are many, little steps, that you can begin implenting in your lives to build a great base to help achieve your goals. Whether it be weight-loss/weight-gain, to quitting smoking, we thought we would share 5 simple things you can do in your daily routine to help make this year your best year!
1. Water, water, water!
Sometimes you don't realise actualy how little water we drink in a day, yet it is a vital ingrieidiant in making sure your body is working the best that it can. We find that drinking a glass of water as soon as you wake up, can help set up your day for success!
2. Sleep, sleep, sleep!
Please people, try to make sure you get enough sleep. If waking up early, try to go to bed a little earlier the night before. And for you avid every 10 minute alarms people (i've been there) you need to try and break the habit, as everytime you wake to hit the snooze button, you are interupting meaningful recovery. If you need to be up at 7am, try and only set one alarm, and a good way to ensure you wake up, is to put your phone somewhere you will need to get out of bed to turn it off!
However much time you can, try and get out for a walk. Not only is it a nice bit of extra exercise, but it is also a great way to help reduce stress. Your mind (and body) will thank you for it.
4. Start small
The whole point of this blog, but summed up in a point... Don't try to make too many big changes at once. You are more likely to faily/burn out and end up resorting to old habits. Make small changes, and increase them incrementally for success!
5. Start a new hobby, or return to an old one
Nothing feeds the brain like doing something you love doing, and it is a perfect excuse to get out the house (for the more sport inclined). If you prefer to stay inside, there are so many things to try. Why not try painting or even start reading?
