Here's a poem about reindeer from our talented author, Charlotte Sebag-Montefiore, we hope it brings you joy. Merry Christmas all!
We are not like humans.
In spring, we go due north.
We walk and walk for days on end,
we don’t just sally forth!
When the land is frozen
and covered up with snow,
it’s this we simply have to eat
to have a drink, you know!
With our cousins, it’s only boys
with antlers for a fight.
Our mothers grow them to protect
their calves with all their might!
You think we fly at Christmas
to pull a sledge at night.
I wonder if you know our name?
- yes, you got it right!
