Here at Olympia we love hearing from our authors, getting an insight into their lives in writing and asking them what their advice would be to future authors. This week we had the pleasure of interviewing Leonie Rhule about her book!
Have you ever experienced “Writer’s Block”? How long do they usually last?
Yes, I tend to have Writers block because sometimes its hard get the story going and mostly my writers block last about two weeks depending on the story or the ideas.
Any tips you would like to share to overcome it?
Write more to keep the story following because one of the main challenges sometimes being an author is keeping the story going because it’s easily to become unmotivated with the characters or the plot.
Do you read much and if so who are your favourite authors?
Yes! I read a lot my favourite Author is Lauren Child because I grew up with her books as Clarice Bean and also watched Charlie & Lola on TV, I also love Holly Smale from the Geek Girl series, I love the humour that gets put into the books, secondly R.J Palacio who wrote wonder it was such a beautiful story told in a raw and realistic way.
Do you proofread and edit your work on your own or pay someone to do it for you? (before it was proofread by us we mean).
No, I didn’t do a lot of the proofreading I had it done by Olympia.
Have you ever left any of your books stew for months on end or even a year?
No, I haven’t done that yet.
Do you believe a book cover plays an important role in the selling process?
Yes of course! The cover is plays the interesting part in the book.
Do you read and reply to the reviews and comments of your readers?
Yes! I reply to the comments and make new friends with other authors and readers.
If you could review Olympia publishers in a few words, what would they be?
Friendly, Helpful, Understanding, Comfortable to be with.
