Sylvia Hawk'sbee is a retired teacher of English and examiner of A-levels. Since her teens, she has had some success with publishing articles and short stories. A few years ago, she self-published The Wood Scrogs, a book for children aged eight and upwards. Her other full length works to date are:

She is widowed and lives in France in a converted barn. A local farmer has sheep on her land for a rent of joints of lamb.
