Peter D. Ladd has been a tenured faculty member at St. Lawrence University in the Graduate School of Education for over thirty-five years. He coordinated the Mental Health Counseling Program - an existential phenomenological approach to mental health counseling. He has spent an equal amount of time on the Akwesasne Mohawk Reservation as a psychologist. He is presently working as a trauma consultant for the St. Regis Mohawk Tribe dealing with domestic violence, sex trafficking and post-traumatic stress disorder. He is a staunch environmentalist and has spent much of his later life on Grindstone Island, in the Thousand Islands
