Margaret Martin

Margaret spent many years bringing up her children and when they began to leave home she looked for another interest in her life. She investigated various job opportunities but soon realised that at the age of forty this was going to be difficult. Her previous knowledge was out-of-date and younger people were preferred. Slightly miffed to say the least she decided to employ herself! She has always enjoyed meeting new people and interacting with them and so she thought a B&B life might be a good venture in the meantime. When the ‘Empty Nest' arrived, she decided to use the now spare bedrooms for Bed and Breakfast. This is the reason for many B&B startups. It was an experiment at first as she thought she would try it for six weeks to see what it was like to have strangers staying in her home. At the end of that time, she came to realise that she really enjoyed hearing about the lives of so many different people and who would ever have anticipated such entertainment?
Hard work it may be but the rewards were many and such enjoyment was really so unexpected.
