Since his discharge in 1997, Jason Dilauren lived a transient lifestyle, afraid to stand out from the crowd and distrustful of everyone and everything around him. He served in the British Army with pride for seven years, but despite being a highly decorated soldier with an exemplary record, he was discharged because of his sexuality. He risked his life to protect a culture and way of life that he himself was never going to get accepted into.
