James Matthewson is a writer, author and political commentator from the north east of England. James grew up in the town of Alnwick, Northumberland. Aged twenty, he received a diagnosis of Asperger's Syndrome and began reflecting upon the challenges of growing up on the Autistic spectrum without a diagnosis. He began to highlight his experiences through poetry and the collection ‘Wonderboy' was born. As the former spokesman to the Chair of the Labour Party and a commentator on UK politics, he regularly writes for publications including The Times and makes appearances on broadcast media. James now lives in rural Northumberland.
