Frank Beattie
Frank Beattie was born in Kilmarnock, Ayrshire, in 1952 and was educated in local schools. In 1972 he joined the staff of the Kilmarnock Standard. He was with the company for 40 years as a reporter and later a sub-editor. He says, "The Yellow Owl stories are about playing with words. There are lots of rhymes and alliteration. I hope young readers will be inspired to have their own fun with words."
