Thinking of becoming a writer? Already have a manuscript but don’t know how to get started?
Well we have some advice for you.

Thinking About Starting to Write:

If you think you have what it takes to be a writer a great way to start is to visit your local library or search online, where you’ll find a wealth of information on writers groups and an extensive collection of books on writing and the publishing process.

Understanding how our industry works will help you appreciate the dynamics of the business and how a book gets from inbox to bookshelf. Being quite deliberate in your approach and thoughtful of your audience and the needs of the market will certainly help your book get noticed.

It may seem obvious but one of the best pieces of advice we can offer is to read as much literature as possible, take in other authors styles, narrative techniques and structures. Like with any art form the new generation is almost always inspired by the previous generations.

  • “I found the whole process to be very smooth indeed, with plenty of regular contact from Olympia as the process developed. People seemed to be working very hard to ensure it went well. Fun and nerve-wrecking at times, but just make sure you get an enthusiastic publisher like Olympia. It makes all the difference."

  • "I have found working with Olympia Publishers a very easy going experience where all things are explained. Accounts, Production, Design, Sales. Each department listens to you and is always ready to help and advice."

    Alan Baxter
  • “This has been a very exciting time in my life and now it is becoming a reality I am overjoyed. Communication was excellent and all correspondence was dealt with in a very efficient manner.”

  • “Ecstatic, proud, lucky – to have some form of legacy is a major personal achievement. Amazing, honestly the staff are so accommodating and helpful. I couldn’t recommend it highly enough.”

    Scot Whitlock
  • "Olympia Publishers, believed in my work and made my dreams come true when other companies couldn't."

    Kerry Barnes
  • "A professional, polite and intelligent publishing experience resulting in a well produced book of which I am proud."
